Seminar 1: 8am - 9am
Building Forensics & the Building Envelope: What Can our Failures Teach Us
Presenter:
Mark Howell from STRUCTURAL
Description:
This program will review and assess wall systems and building envelope types with the purpose of aiding the assessment of the building envelope and proper maintenance plans.  Pro-active approaches to maintaining the integrity of the wall systems and the building envelope, and reactive options to resolve problems are examined.  The protocol involved with leak resolution and water infiltration problems are also investigatged, as well as forensic evaluations, and case studies directly related to water infiltration.

Seminar 2: 10am - 11am
Subject: Smart Glazing Selections for Your Next Project - Meeting LEED and Beyond
Presenter: Kevin Lechwar from PPG Industries Inc.
Description: Ever in a quandry about what options and which types of glazing to select for a
project, or to meet LEED or the new International Green Building Code requirements? This presentation will help take the guesswork out of this question, and will show you hwo to make those decisions, and will take a look at new innovations in building glazings, includign glazings that in the future will even create electricity!

Seminar 3: 1:30pm - 2:30pm
Subject: The Basics of Ground Air Heat Exchanging Systems
Presenter:
John Kimball, Project Manager, REHAU Inc.
Description: As building designs move closer to achieving net-zero goals, ground air heat exchangers are becoming more popular, and will play an ever increasing role in cutting heating and cooling loads to the lowest possible levels.  In this session, basic concepts, requirements and costs for implementing ground-air heat exchange systems will be examined and explained.

Seminar 4: 3:30pm - 4:30pm
Subject: The Science of the Building Envelope and it's Commissioning Requirements
Presenter:
John Runkle, PE,
Architectural Testing, Inc.
Description: This presentation will discuss what separates a great building envelope from a poor
one; the requirements for the building envelope under LEED, ASHRAE, and the new International Green Building Code; when to specify commissining, the means and methods used for the practice, and do establish how enclosure commissioning works with MEP commissioning, and anticipated changes to the practice in the neat future.
